Brother and Sir Knights,

July 4th gave us an opportunity to relax and enjoy time with our friends and families. I hope that our Independence Day also lent itself to thoughts and feelings of patriotism; reflection on the freedoms which we often take for granted; and an appreciation of the men and women whose military service, past and present, safeguards our freedoms and families. Patriotism, the fourth virtue of our Order, is a natural fit with our love of God, family and country.

So, enjoy the opportunities that this time of year brings to spend more time with friends and family. And while you're at it, remember to also show your appreciation to those that make our way of life possible. Continue flying your flag, supporting our troops, and thanking God for all we have and enjoy.

COUNCIL SOCIAL EVENTS FOR JULY/AUGUST 2010

Adult Social Event - Potluck Dinner & Bonko

Friday July 9th at the Father Rodney Bourg Family Life Center from 7:00PM until.
Pot Luck Meal: The council will provide the main dish and drinks. Please bring a side dish.

Bonko dice game following the meal until someone takes home the money ($5 per person). We will start the game around 8:00PM

Family Social Event - Zephyr's Baseball Game

Alter Servers Honored
Our council will honor the St Luke Altar Servers by sponsoring a Zephyrs Night on Friday, July 16, 2010. The council will pay the cost of the ticket for the Altar Server and purchase Zephyr Bucks so they can buy a Hot Dog and a drink. Family members will pay $9.00 for their ticket. We would like to invite all Brother Knights and their families to join us for the celebration. We will have our own section and be recognized during the game on the scoreboard. There will be fireworks at the field following the game.

Family Social Event - Bowling

Sunday August 8th at the Bowling USA on Brown Switch Road.

Bowling will begin at 1:00 PM. Cost is $10 per person and includes 2 games and shoes.

SAINTS FOOTBALL POOL

It's that time again, Saints Football pool. Last year it only took a month and half to fill so act now. Same rules apply as the previous year's how a square costs $25 and it is good for all 16 Saints football games. If you win a quarter, you have the options of accepting the payout of $25 or rolling it over to the Super Bowl pool and have a chance of winning $500 per quarter on the Super Bowl pool.

Intercessory Prayers

Brother Knights,

We have been maintaining a Council and Assembly prayer list that is published in the Knight Time and is also on our Council/ Assembly website. I will also send out an e-mail for prayers, as soon as possible, to our Council and our Assembly when members, their family or friends are sick, in the hospital or have died. If someone is the hospital it is helpful if I have the name of the hospital and if they can receive visitors. If some one has died I will send out information regarding their passing and I will also send out information about the funeral arrangements. This will be done as soon as possible after I receive the information.
